Course Description
The Security+ program is a vendor-neutral certification exam preparation training course that is recognized by the technology community as a valuable credential. Successful completion of the exam validates knowledge of communication security, infrastructure security, cryptography, operational security, and general security concepts. This training will offer flexibility for both teacher and student in a hands-on and theory-based environment.

PREREQUISITES:
Current results on the Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE) are required. TABE testing/assistance is available at Aparicio-Levy Adult Technical Center. A TABE score of 10 or higher is required for entrance into the Security+ program. A high school diploma or GED is also required. Although not a prerequisite, it is recommended that CompTIA Security+ candidates have two years of experience in technical support or A+ and Network+ certifications. This prerequisite may be waived upon consideration by the instructor.
